Logic Studio Missing Samples, Instruments fix

A lot of people have pointed out that some instruments like "Hybrid Morph" from Garageband (that you can use in Logic Pro) as well as some samples are missing and you might get messages like this:


I have an upgraded version of Logic Studio (I was using Logic Express 7) and I also had this problem.

Here's a quick fix: just install Logic Pro again and it should work, no, I'm NOT talking about installing the whole Logic Studio, just Logic pro, it should take you about 15 minutes, it has worked well for me:

1. Use the installer in your Logic Studio installer disk and in custom install menu remove everything that is not Logic Pro (for some reason you cannot remove the Apple Loops Utility but that is not a problem)


2. Click on upgrade and wait until the whole process finishes (depending on your machine the time will vary, it took about 15 minutes for me).


3. You're done! no more "missing" messages, and here's the prodigal son, Mr. Hybrid Morph...

  1. THANKS! I just bought Logic Studio and installed it on my new MacBook. I was running Main Stage setting up my layers and splits. Everything was great til i noticed about 10-20 instruments could not be located (including "Hybrid Mor") I re-installed "Logic Pro" alone (well... and Apple Loops Utility) and it fixed just about everything, as far as I can tell. Still missing 1 or 2 horn sounds. They actually locate the files but unless an alto sax sounds EXACTLY like an EP, then its still missing;-) THANKS FOR THE HELP!
