The wait is officially over boys and girls, we have a new Logic Studio, I'll write more about it when I get my dirty hands on it I promise... in the mean time... (looks into wallet...) bwahahaha...
Insofar:
FLEX TIME: This is a new set of tools and well, they are mainly to stretch audio, and not only that, you can drag it within a region, yeah, no cutting, it seems that good. What is really cool though is that in the project's image there's a picture of Thievery Corporation aeternal users of Cakewalk, welcome to the Mac world btw guys.
Audio Quantize, it seems to work like MIDI it will align all your unruly beats to either the project's grid or to other adjacent, audio files. In the video a bass line is seamlessly aligned with a drum beat.
Varispeed, remember how jealous and bitchy some of us were getting because of Propellerheads Record and Ableton Live and ProTools ability to manipulate tempo and sound altogether? Yeah, now we have that in LS folks.
Selective Track Import: You can import tracks from other projects including plugins, mixer settings (even aux sends, yay!) and even if your other projects are set in a different tempo they can easily conform to your new project's tempo. Woohooo....
Expanded Take Folder Editing: Man, I swear about a year ago I dreamed I could do this and when I woke up I was angry it didn't exist. Trite as it sounds this is a dream come true.
Remember Comping? now you can cut, copy and move regions INSIDE a take folder. They should have named it "Mega ArchComping Platinum Diamond + God" You have got to see the video of how it works.
Mainstage gets ReWire support!: They say FULL ReWire support, that means audio and MIDI I hope.
Probably Mainstage has become a direct competitor to Ableton Live (or a complement) you can now loop, play loops and record performances.
Ah... so many new things...
The new Logic Studio, with Logic 9 go check it out!
