If you're getting into the $1300 range, then the AD/DA converters in the RME Fireface 400 / 800 are superior. But, then the new Apogee Duet is superior to RME at $500 but gives you a lot less inputs. Check out RME, the converters to the price truly up your studio quality quite a bit.
